   Audio slideshows

The most accessible of these multimedia presentations are audio slideshows, which blend audio, in the form of narration, ambient sound or music, with photography, to support and enhance the visual impact of the presentation. Many photographers learn to create audio slideshows using the inexpensive, yet powerful program Soundslides.

Soundslides allows you to assemble an edited audio track with a folder of still images and control the timing, duration and transitions between still photos. Once you’ve completed the presentation, you can easily publish your Soundslides slideshow in Flash format for publication online. The links below will help you get a feel for the ways audio can supplement still photography.
