Jay Kinghorn
Prolific author, provocative speaker and Adobe Photoshop Certified
Expert trainer, Jay Kinghorn uses his unique skill to help companies
and organizations strengthen their workflow processes and develop
creative uses for photography. His company, RGB Imaging, works with
clients to develop automated workflows for print, Web and interactive
marketing.
As an Olympus Visionary photographer, Jay uses his unique eye to
capture the ever-changing landscape of the West and sports like
mountain biking and rock climbing. He also presents internationally to
various universities, trade associations and will be the primary
speaker for ASMP’s Preserving Digital Images Standards and Workflow
Project. A thought-provoking and informative speaker, his presentations
focus on digital photography workflows, color management, image
optimization and the changing role of photography in this increasingly
visual world.
The second edition of his book, Perfect Digital Photography, which he co-authored with Pulitzer-prize winner Jay Dickman, was released in June 2009.
Jay recently began work on a multimedia project documenting the
strained relationship between water availability and its use in the
West. His blog, jaykinghorn.com, discusses photography workflow, visual
literacy and multimedia tools.
His clients include Olympus, Sony, Adobe, Cabela’s, Vail Resorts, the Rocky Mountain Institute and Pearl Izumi. He is often found climbing the rock walls, biking the trails or skiing near his home in Salt Lake City, UT.

Jay Dickman
A Pulitzer-Prize winner and National Geographic Photographer, Jay’s
work has appeared in 15 of the high profile A Day in the Life of . . .
series. His work also has won several awards in the World Press
International Competition, including the ‘Golden Eye’ award, and the
Sigma Delta Chi Award for Distinguished Service in Journalism, and
multiple awards in U.S. competitions.
Jay Dickman has worked in the photojournalism field for more than 30
years, covering events as diverse as the war in El Salvador to the
Olympics, national political conventions to six Super Bowls, the 40th
Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima to photographing Shirley
Maclaine. He has spent three months living in a stone-age village in
Papua New Guinea, spent a week under the Arctic ice in a nuclear attack
sub and sank on a boat on the Amazon. He’s flown around the world for a
corporate shoot for EDS Corporation. The range of Jay's work is quite
extreme, and he feels incredibly fortunate to work in a business he
loves.
Jay’s client list ranges from EDS to Nike, Marlboro to the NFL. Publications include National Geographic, LIFE, Conde Nast Traveler, Time, Fortune, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, GEO, Stern, American Way.
Corporate clients include EDS Corporation, Nike, Dell Computers,
Dresser Industries, Hewlett Packard, Quaker, CH2M Hill, The Polk
Company and Sun MicroSystems.
Completing more than twenty-five assignments for the National
Geographic Society, he was also featured in a national TV ad campaign
for American Express. He is currently an Olympus Visionary, an HP Pro
Photographer and a Lexar Elite Photographer, utilizing the latest
technology from those companies.
In addition to working with many other workshops, including the
Maine Photographic Workshops and American Photo Mentor Series, Jay is
the founder of the Firstlight Workshops. Firstlight Workshops have
hosted digital photography workshops in the Mid-Pyrenees of France, the
Western Highlands of Scotland, Dubois, Wyoming and the Eastern Shore of
Maryland. Future workshops are being planned in the Aeolian Islands of
Italy and western Ireland.
