Using Alkaline or rechargeable batteries including Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, and Ni-MH is not advised. These batteries can’t supply sufficient current for Blink products. However, you can still safely use Li ion through a third-party battery pack.
Note: Blink cameras are only compatible with size AA 1.5 volt Lithium non-rechargeable batteries.
Can you use rechargeable batteries in digital camera?
What kind of batteries do digital cameras use? Even though some cameras come with an add-on specialist battery pack, most digital cameras require standard AA batteries. These come in multiple options: alkaline, lithium and rechargeable.
Can you use rechargeable batteries with regular batteries?
Using batteries of different chemistries to power a product can cause damage to your device from electrolyte leakage and over-discharge of the lower capacity batteries. Basically it makes a mess and eats the battery contacts, potentially ruining your product. Don’t mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable.
Shorten the length of your motion clips. Reduce your use of Live View. Lower your camera’s sensitivity setting. Configure Activity Zones to prevent excessive motion clips or false alerts.
When wired, the Blink Video Doorbell is able to extend battery life and rings your existing chime. Even when wired, the doorbell is always powered by size AA, 1.5 volt, Lithium non-rechargeable batteries.
Blink cameras use non-rechargeable 1.5V AA lithium metal batteries. These AA lithium metal batteries are suitable for the Blink XT2 cameras as well as the original Blink XT or XT1. Available in a pack of 10, these lithium AA batteries will hold their power for up to 20 years.
Is Duracell a lithium battery?
Duracell High Power Lithium batteries have up to 10 years in storage guaranteed so you can be confident these batteries will be ready when you need them.
What happens if you use alkaline batteries instead of lithium?
Alkaline batteries work the same as lithium models, but they only transfer ions in one direction. As ions move from the anode to the cathode, the battery will lose voltage as it drains, and the system can’t be recharged.
Please use only size AA 1.5 volt Lithium non-rechargeable batteries – DO NOT USE any Lithium-Ion, alkaline, or rechargeable batteries. If the camera is powered by USB with batteries installed and the power goes out, the camera will continue to run on the available battery power.
